Ophelia causing problems
The approach of the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia is leading to the cancellation of a lot of tomorrow's (MON) sailings
Winds of gale 7 to gale 8 are expected in the Irish Sea tomorrow morning, increasing in strength to severe gale 9, then storm 10 in the southwest of our sea area by midday.
Monday's Heysham to Douglas service is now scheduled to depart at 1am with passengers asked to check in no later than midnight thirty.
Tomorrow's (Mon) 7am sailing to Heysham and return scheduled for 12.30 are both subject to possible disruption or cancellation. A decision on these sailings will take place at 6am tomorrow.
Sailings for the rest of the day - and the 2.15am Tuesday sailing from Heysham have all been cancelled.
The Met Office says gusts of 60 to 70 mph are expected across the Island tomorrow evening, with a small risk of 70 to 80 mph, causing travel disruption and possibly some damage.
Very large waves will also break onto exposed areas after dark this evening, producing dangerous conditions for a while along parts of the coast.
