Rushen Heritage Trust seeks public views on Cosy Nook plans

Port Erin Commissioners set to submit proposals for new cafe

A cultural history charity is seeking the views of the public on plans to modernise a once popular cafe in Port Erin.

Rushen Heritage Trust, which promotes what it calls the 'Island's beautiful south', has launched an online survey looking to gauge opinion on proposals for the Cosy Nook.

The body says the three question consultation will 'develop its position on the plans' ahead of submission.

The commissioners in Port Erin are behind the redevelopment of the now vacant cafe, which has been closed for the last two years.

In March, initial designs for the site were unveiled, sparking a mixed reaction from both commissioners and residents in the village.

The local authority is set to submit its plans after calls for an alternative design were withdrawn at a board meeting earlier this month.
