Roads and buses - latest detailed information

Bus schedules are gradually returning to normal today (Monday), but parents and pupils are being reminded a limited school bus service is operating on key routes this morning.

For outward journeys, school buses will be the same as on Friday, which means operations in some outlying and rural areas are either restricted or have been cancelled.

But normal services will resume for the homeward journeys this afternoon.

General services are back to normal today (Monday), including all those in the evening, with the following exceptions:

Services 1 and 2: The Sound, Bradda and Derby Haven will not be served.
Service 3 and 13: Old Laxey Village and Ballaragh will not be served.
Services 5 and 6: Due to road closures the Hope will not be served.
Services 16-20: Normal service will operate.
Service 21: Hazel and Heather Crescents in Pulrose will not be served.

All school services this morning (Monday) are operating normally, with the following exceptions:

Service 9A: Ballaughton Manor Hill and Ballabrooie will not be served.
Service 9C: Ballabrooie will not be served.
Service 10: This route will operate from Kirk Michael, via the Coast Road and Peel, to St John's. Cronk-y-Voddy and Ballacraine will not be served.
Service 17B: Lhen and Kiondrogohad Road will not be served.
Service 20A: Smeale and the Point of Ayre will not be served.
Service 29: Cancelled.
Service 32A, 33 and 33A: Hazel and Heather Crescents in Pulrose will not be served.
Services 38 and 42: Lakeside and Ballachrink will not be served.
Services 39 and 40: Birch Hill will not be served.
Service 44: This route will operate but Old Laxey Village will not be served.
Service 45: This route will operate from Strang but Abbeylands, Baldwin and Mount Rule will not be served.
Service 52: Ballaughton Manor Hill will not be served.
Service 63: Bradda will not be served.
Service 64: Cancelled.
Service 66: Braaid and St Mark's will not be served.

This morning Ramsey and northern school buses will run as per the services operated on Friday (January 8).

A number of roads are still closed because of snow and ice.

The latest update the newsroom received from the Department of Transport said the following routes would remain closed until they had been treated and were considered safe to travel on:

The A18 Snaefell Mountain Road, from the Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa.
The B10 Brandywell/Beinn-y-Phott Road, from Brandywell Cottage to the Mountain Road.
The A14 Tholt-e-Will Road, from Tholt-e-Will Cottage up to the Bungalow.
The C37 Druidale Road, from Brandywell Cottage to the Ballaugh Glen Road.
The B22 Injebreck Road, from Brandywell Cottage to Ard Whallian.
The A30 Sloc Road, from the Ballakillowey/Ballakilpheric Road junction through to the Round Table Crossroads, and down to the A3 Shoulder Road junction south of Foxdale.
The Dalby to Colby Road, from the Lhag Road at Dalby, through the Round Table Crossroads and down to the junction with the Ronague Chapel/Corlea Road.
