Rights of way row rumbles on

Landowners' objections to public footpaths at Langness will be outlined at the High Court in Douglas later this month.

Former transport minister David Anderson has told the House of Keys a date will be fixed on November 3 for a full hearing of the challenge to public rights of way on the peninsula.

A public inquiry concluded footpaths near the home of TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson were public rights of way, and maps have been amended to show that.

Mr Anderson told the Keys there had been a series of court hearings challenging those maps.

They included one seeking the right to privacy under the Human Rights Act:
