Adrienne Burnett and Sue Moore's last day
It's the end of an era for two Island high schools today.
The headteachers of Ballakermeen in Douglas and Queen Elizabeth II in Peel are both retiring.
Adrienne Burnett has been at Ballakermeen for 27 years, 21 of those as head.
She has seen generations of children educated there, and says it's been a hugely enjoyable career:
Sue Moore became head of QE2 in 1998, and has been reflecting on what the role demands:
Taking over from Mrs Burnett at Ballakermeen in September will be Graeme Corrin, and at QE2 the new head will be Charlotte Clarke.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts shared his thoughts on Twitter this morning.
Big day today for two of our most important partners, as Adrienne Burnett and Sue Moore retire as heads respectively of Ballakermeen High School and QE II High School. We’ve worked with them for many years and we will miss them. Great public servants.
