Renewed call for reform of Budget process

Speakers says he's made several attempts to overhaul system previously

There's a fresh push for Budget reform on the Isle of Man from a politician who opposed this year’s financial plan.

Juan Watterson MHK is calling for greater transparency and more time to consider Treasury proposals; points he emphasised during his speech in Tynwald this week.

He says he's made several attempts to overhaul the system, the first back in 2010, but has always fallen short by just a few votes.

Mr. Watterson argues the block vote consistently stifles change and doubts there will be any real progress before the 2026 House of Keys General Election:
