Renewed appeal over puppy dumping

Police seek help in tracking dog owner

If you suspect a friend or neighbour of dumping newborn puppies at Balladoole Civic Amenity Site - shop them in to police.

That's the request made by the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team - which continues to investigate by renewing its witness appeal.

The four collie breed merle pups were found tied in a plastic bag last month - officers are still trying to find out how they came to be there.

Officers are looking for anyone with a border collie that may have been showing signs of pregnancy around late August.

People with that breed of dog expecting a litter are asked to come forward to rule them out of enquiries - the pregnancy is said to have lasted around 63 days.

Police say the owner was from the north, and either owned or borrowed a car.

Anyone suspicious someone they know is involved is asked to contact Ramsey police on 812234, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
