Regulation key to Tynwald petition

Home affairs says its unlikely to change stance on e-cigarettes

The government says that it's likely Home Affairs won't change its view on the use of e-cigarettes in the Manx Prison until they've been officially recognised in the UK.

A former inmate says he'll try to get a petition for redress of grievance presented on Tynwald Day, allowing the devices to be used at Jurby.

But Home Affairs Minister, Juan Watterson, says his department would need to ensure the products are demonstrably safe before it gives the go ahead.
