Hygiene certificates provide hurdle for charity

One man wants to start a food care-in-the-community revolution in the Isle of Man.

Pensioner, Alan Buck, is attempting to establish a copy of The Casserole Club here, but he's coming up against red tape.

Should you need a hygiene inspection to hand food to a neighbour in need? Mr Buck says government insists if it's organised by a charity, it needs vetting.

Casserole was rolled out in the UK in 2012 - volunteers take what they're already doing at home; 'Cooks' and 'Diners' choose their experiences online.

However, Mr Buck says he's come against some serious challenges, but he's optimistic:
