
The majority of people in the Isle of Man have the potential to save lives.
That's the view of Training Officer for the Red Cross Andy Kewley, who teaches vital first aid skills which can make a real difference to a person's chances of survival in the event of a serious accident.
He says 'first aiders' are not meant to take the place of fully-trained paramedics, but can provide immediate assistance, before emergency services arrive.
Mr Kewley says there are no restrictions in terms of age and ability when it comes to learning the basics of first aid:
