Elizabeth Bankes-Jones reflects on achievements
The recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation says she couldn't possibly have achieved what she has without the help of others.
Elizabeth Bankes-Jones has been chosen as this year's recipient, in recognition of her contribution to Island life.
She's helped a significant number of children with special needs and their families through her work as a primary school teacher and also set up the charity ‘S4U’ which aimed to raise money and buy land to build a senior school in Uganda.
She explained to Manx Radio how it felt to receive this award:
Elizabeth is one of several Manxies who have been honoured in the last few days.
