RBS International - nine job losses

RBS International says it’s to shed jobs on the Island as it undertakes a strategic review.

The company says it’s simplifying its structure and although it’s creating new posts, nine people will be made redundant.

Adrian Gill, the company’s chief executive says the intention is to make RBS a smaller, simpler and smarter bank.

The news has produced an angry response from Unite the Union which claims up to 40 posts are at risk here.

Regional officer for the Isle of Man Eric Holmes described the job losses as a further unnecessary blow to our internal economy.
