Queen's Pier meeting comes to Douglas

Chance to quiz engineers about plans

The second in a series of public meetings to discuss the fate of Queen's Pier will take place in Douglas on Wednesday.

The future of the Ramsey landmark lies with the Queen's Pier Restoration Trust, which plan to survey and restore the first 50 metres of the pier over the next three years.

It was one of the longest piers in Britain until its closure in 1991, and the subject of a 1.7 million pound renovation in 2011.

Tomorrow's meeting will give the public a chance to ask questions and hear expert opinion from engineers.

It takes place at the Loch Promenade Methodist Church from 7.30pm.
