Queen's Pier restoration - has cost doubled?

The much-delayed Council of Ministers report on the future of the Queen's Pier goes before Tynwald on Tuesday - and it seems the delay could cost the Island dearly.

The cost of putting the Victorian masterpiece in order has leapt from an original estimate of £5 million to around £11 million.

Vice-chairman of the Friends of the Queens Pier, Michael Tramontana, is amazed at the rise in costs.
