Private sector involvement in housing review

A top-to-bottom review of the Island's need for social housing over the next 20 years is to be carried out by the Department of Social Care.

It was promised by minister Martyn Quayle at July's Tynwald sitting.

Statistics show the number of people per household in the Island is falling, while demand for public sector and first-time buyer homes is likely to grow.

The department is inviting private organisations with expertise in housing policy to take part in the review.

Mr Quayle says it will set out what needs to be provided for a population which is growing slowly, but ageing rapidly:
