The Isle of Man Prison has launched a new construction workshop aimed at providing prisoners with valuable skills to help them secure employment upon release.
Many inmates reportedly enter the prison system lacking the necessary skills to reintegrate successfully into society.
Alongside the construction workshop, prisoners can take part in courses covering numeracy, literacy, and work skills, all with the goal of reducing reoffending rates.
Lecturer Jon Dunne explained that some prisoners experience 'panic' as they near the end of their sentences:
