Princess Royal completes Island visit

 

The Princess Royal has completed her visit to the Isle of Man, keeping to her planned schedule despite a delayed arrival and heavy downpours throughout the day.

 

Princess Anne's day began with a tour of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture headquarters in St John's - where she heard first-hand accounts of the impact on farmers of last year's heavy March snows.

 

The princess went on to meet Bishop Robert Paterson at St German's cathedral in Peel, to hear about a long-term development project.

 

Her day, which also included a private visit to Jurby prison, ended in the official opening of Ballavartyn Equestrian Centre in Santon, where she unveiled a plaque.
