Primary pupils plant Trees for Life

Two schools at Conrhenny

Pupils from two of the Island's schools have been doing their bit for the environment at Conrhenny Plantation on Wednesday morning.

Youngsters from Michael and St John's primaries were planting saplings to grow in the Children's Wood, as part of the 'Trees for Life' project.

It's been organised by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, and started in 2009.

Since then, four thousand kids have taken part in the project.

Experienced foresters from DEFA were on hand to help plant the oak, ash, and rowan saplings.
