Priceless TT trophies on display

There's a chance to see what £4 million worth of TT silverware looks like, at an unusual venue on Mad Sunday.

In the past the trophies have been displayed in public buildings like museums and the Gaiety Theatre.

But this weekend they will take pride of place in Kirk Braddan village hall, close to one of the most popular vantage points on the TT course.

Security firm G4S are sponsoring the exhibition and the priceless trophies will be on show between 10am and 4.30pm.

The church earns around £12,000 a year from opening its gardens to biking fans on race days during the TT and Manx Grand Prix.

Kirk Braddan's Reverend Philip Frear says the modest entrance fee and profits from serving refreshments all help boost funds for the building project.

There's no charge to see the exhibition, but donations will be shared between the church hall rebuilding project and the Joey Dunlop Fund which is holding an open day at its new house, at nearby Braddan Bridge, at the same time.
