Post Office boss speaks of 'damaging' situation

Workers prepare for a strike ballot while management claims its hands are tied.

That's the current situation at the Isle of Man Post Office, after it was announced earlier this week that members of the Communication Workers' Union will be balloted on industrial action.

They believe Post Office management has gone back on its promise of sharing profits with workers, particularly after they their 2009 agreement to resolve drawn out and complex pension talks.

Management maintains that it is constrained by the Manx government's decision to freeze all public sector pay budgets.
