Twelve to be used for six months from TT
The Isle of Man Constabulary is to trial body cameras for its officers.
Twelve will be used initially.
The pilot scheme will run for six months, starting at the TT.
The cameras are worn on individual police officers' uniforms.
The Island's force says similar trials across the UK and in Jersey have shown their use have a positive effect, with an increase in earlier guilty pleas from people who know they have been caught on camera.
They have also been shown to have a calming effect in many public order disturbances.
The ones used have a forward-facing screen, so a person can see themselves being recorded.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts says the cameras have proved their effectiveness in many real-life situations, adding that he's convinced they will make a real contribution to the way his officers police.
