Police seize £10,000 of heroin from Douglas property

14 packages of Class A drug found

Police have seized £10,000 worth of heroin from a property in Douglas.

The Drugs and Organised Crime Unit recovered 14 packages, containing around 40 grams of the Class A substance, during a raid on a warranted address yesterday.

In a post on social media, the constabulary says the seizure proves its focus on disrupting Class A drug supplies is working.

Earlier this month, police announced that the border closure was 'drying up' the supply of illegal drugs to the Island.

Meanwhile, addiction support charities say drug addicts have an 'opportunity for change' during lockdown, but fear for health implications.
