Police pension dispute

The Isle of Man Police Federation is considering taking legal action against the government in a dispute over pension arrangements for officers who come here from the UK.

According to the Federation, officers with less than five years service are losing nine months of pension repyaments when they switch forces.

And it's claimed, that's despite promises their pensions WOULD be preserved when they move.

Now the Federation's urging officers to delay moving here until the issue is resolved.

With around 30% of the Manx force made-up of officers from UK police forces - that could mean problems in recruitment.
