The handling by police of last night's serious crash at Greeba has been criticised by the man who was first on the scene.
Neil Cheetham, who lives next to the crash site, says he and his son had to warn traffic about the accident, until police closed the road.
As they were doing so, a car spun out of control and nearly hit the pair of them, before coming to rest ten feet from fire crews who were working on one of the vehicles involved.
The two vehicle accident resulted in both drivers being taken to hospital with what were described as 'non-life threatening injuries'.
One of them, a 19-year-old Peel man, had to be cut out of his Toyota Celica.

Head of the Roads Policing Unit Inspectior Richard Power has released a statement, which says: 'This was a serious collision and I wish to pass on my sincere thanks to Mr Cheetham and his family for the assistance they gave last night.
'The difficulties in closing roads in residential areas with many areas of access were clearly highlighted last night.
"While the road was closed at Ballacraine it appears that a vehicle has for some reason been able to breach the closure.
"This incident is being examined separately to the initial collision to find out what happened and see how we can improve our procedures.'
