Police hunt for 'flasher'

A man has indecently exposed himself to a woman in her 60s in Douglas.

It happened in the field opposite the Cat with no Tail pub, yesterday lunchtime.

Police say the man, in his mid to late 20s, approached the woman from behind before committing the offence, which they describe as 'an assault'.

The woman, who was exercising her dog at the time, wasn't hurt and raised the alarm using her mobile phone.

The suspect is described as a white male, about five feet, nine inches tall and of slim build.

He was wearing dark coloured clothing, thought to include tracksuit-type trousers and a hooded top.

A thorough search of the area was carried out around 1pm, but the man wasn't found.

Police are appealing to other dog walkers, and anybody else who was in the area of the former golf driving range on Johnny Watterson's Lane from 12 noon to 1pm yesterday, to come forward.

They are also very keen to speak to anybody who has had recent experience of any similar behaviour which they haven't reported.

The numbers to ring are 631212 for Police Headquarters and 0800 555 111 for the anonymous Crimestoppers line.
