Police follow Crimewatch leads

Detectives in the Isle of Man are investigating calls to the Crimewatch programme about a man wanted in connection with serious sex offences against a child.

The disappearance of Michael Sansbury, who jumped bail after being charged in the Island, was featured on the TV show on Wednesday night.

As a result - four possible sightings are being followed-up.

Three of the calls related to sightings in the UK- but one caller told the Crimewatch team they may have seen Michael Sansbury in the Isle of Man.

He was charged with sex offences against a child in november 2005 and bailed to appear in court in Douglas the following February.

But he hasn't been seen since. The Crimewatch feature included his last known descpriton, the aliases he may have used, and the suggestion he may be working as a heavy goods driver.

Detectives here are liaising with their counterparts in the UK in the hope information from one of the calls leads to the breakthrough they're waiting for.
