Police find 18 months of messages about dealing drugs

Single cannabis joint found in 21-year-old's home

A court’s heard police found only small amounts of drugs during a raid on a Douglas home, but found 18 months of phone messages about dealing.

Twenty-one-year-old Jamie Shaun Robinson of Clifton Terrace appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to one count each of possessing cannabis and being concerned in supplying the class B drug.

Prosecution advocate Hazel Carroon told the court police raided Robinson’s home on October 21 last year.

Inside the address, officers found just £4 worth of cannabis and a single joint worth £5.

However, a mobile phone seized during the search showed Robinson had been selling the drug to others since April 2019.

In interview, he later admitted selling cannabis to friends but said he wasn’t a large-scale dealer.

Magistrates bailed him and committed him to be sentenced in a Court of General Gaol Delivery on 21 May.
