Podiatry closures will help improve standards

The Department of Health's decision to close two podiatry clinics will ultimately lead to a better level of care, according to its director of health strategy and performance Norman McGregor Edwards.

The clinics in Peel and Laxey serve more than 300 patients who will now be referred to the central clinic in Douglas, or if they prefer, the facilities in Ramsey or Rushen which will remain open.

The decision has been taken following an internal review.
