Play a part in running the Island

If you’ve ever thought you could do a better job of running some of the Island’s services – now’s your chance.

The Council of Ministers and Treasury are looking for people to serve as lay members of the Island’s statutory boards.

People from all backgrounds and walks of life are being urged to apply to provide ideas and advice from a different perspective.

The public bodies aren’t government departments, but are overseen by the government.

Anyone who successfully applies to become a lay member will serve a five-year term in one of the organisations.

They include: the Manx Electricity Authority, Water and Sewerage Authority, Post Office, Office of Fair Trading, Financial Supervision Commission, Insurance and Pensions Authority, Road Transport Licensing Committee, Public Sector Pensions Authority and Civil Service Commission.

Later this year there’ll also be the chance to apply to join the Appointments Commission, War Memorials Committee, Police Consultative Forum and Manx National Heritage.

Information packs and online application forms are now available on the government’s website, gov.im
