Handwritten drawings from Edwardian times
Plans of buildings from Douglas's past have been unearthed as part of an exhibition arranged by the capital's Council.
The collection of drawings and photos features the tourists amusements which once occupied Douglas Head, such as the Warwick Tower observation platform, the funicular railway, and a 'push-started' switchback roller-coaster.
Taken from the authority's building control archives, most of the plans are handwritten and date back to the Edwardian period.
They also include a look at Council built sites such as the original Pulrose power station.
Assistant chief officer at the Council Daniel Looney says it is important to have a focus through which to display the documents, that's why the exhibition is broken into different themes .
Today (12 Oct) and tomorrow from 11am until 2pm, the drawings and photos will be available for the public to view in the Council chambers.
