Planning application in for 1886 'Big Stage'

Big-name acts announced last month

A planning application has been submitted for 1886's 'Big Stage' TT event.

Owners of the Douglas bar have announced a number of acts to play over a 16 day festival from 28 May to 12 June - including; Chic, Primal Scream, Rag 'N' Bone Man and Jessie J.

Tickets went on sale last month.

The proposed site is Villiers Square - across from 1886 Bar and Grill on the corner of Regent Street and Loch Promenade.

Tevir Group, which owns the land, has given permission for the events to take place.

The plan is for the site to be open to the public from 10am to midnight each day - with music until 11:45pm.

1886 director James Thompson says, to prevent any possible public nuisance, an Event Management Team will ensure appropriate noise control levels are in place.

If approved the building of the stage will begin on 22 May with a view to having the site cleared by mid-June.
