Petition to 'bee' handed over!

Concerns remain over the future of bees in the Isle of Man, after a number of hives have been affected by Colony Collapse Disorder and Varoa mites in the United Kingdom and United States.

A petition will be handed over to Agricultural Minister Phil Gawne tomorrow, calling for the prevention of bees coming over from the UK, to stop the spread of the disease.

At the moment the Island's bee population is disease free, and hive owner Cilla Platt is keen to keep it that way:
