Paramedic students could spend clinical placements on Island

Partnership with Wrexham university announced

Student paramedics could be able to carry out their clinical placements at home thanks to a new partnership between the Isle of Man Ambulance Service and Wrexham University.

The partnership will provide a strong clinical development opportunity for aspiring paramedics, but also support Manx Care's drive to deliver more locally based training opportunities.

Wrexham is to advertise its Paramedic Science degree programme on Island, with tuition beginning in September this year.

On completion of the course graduates will have a qualification that's endorsed by the College of Paramedics.

Daniel Finnerty, Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Sciences at Wrexham GlynDwr University says it's a unique opportunity for Island residents to to study a Health and Care Professions Council approved programme and to continue contributing to the care and wellbeing of their local community.
