Paedophile scheme to be monitored

It's a case of wait and see for the Isle of Man and 'Sarah's Law'.

Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle told the House of Keys no background check scheme would be brought in here yet.

An initiative currently on trial in four English counties enables parents to find out if people in close, regular contact with their children are convicted paedophiles.

Mr Quayle told the House it made sense to see how that went first (audio file attached):
