Revised proposals "slightly less bad"

That's the view of a group set up to oppose the DoI's plans for Douglas promenade.
'Keep cars and horse trams off the walkway' has attracted more than 3,200 members since it was set up on Facebook by David Griffin, Tim Knott and Murray Lambden.
The opinions on the Douglas promenade scheme could not be further apart.
According to the DoI, it will apparently bring a 'wide range of social, cultural and economic benefits for the Isle of Man for generations to come'.
A new post from Murray Lambden on the group's page says the minister has taken account of some of the criticisms of the scheme but over the last few months all he has achieved is making a really terrible plan into a slightly less bad one.
The DoI is looking to start work on the £20 million scheme before the end of the year.
