One further Covid-19 death in community

Alf Cannan announces news at media briefing

There has been one further death from Covid-19 in the community - yet again from Abbotswood Nursing Home in Ballasalla.

Treasury Minister Alf Cannan made the announcement at today's media briefing.

That means there have now been a total of 16 deaths in the community and five in Noble's hospital.

All of the community deaths have been from the same care home, as well as two of the five hospital patients who had been residents there.

Since the last update yesterday, there has been one further confirmed positive test for coronavirus in the Isle of Man, so the total number of confirmed cases now stands at 309.

In total, 266 patients have been instructed to self-isolate and 22 are being treated at the hospital.

The contact tracing process is already underway, led by Public Health.

There have now been 2,941 concluded tests, 45 people are awaiting results and 30 people are awaiting tests.

In total 252 individuals are 'presumed recovered'.
