Onchan pub to become foodbank drop-off point

To encourage donations each provider will be given a raffle ticket

The Manx Arms pub in Onchan has teamed up with the Isle of Man Foodbank Charity to provide a drop-off point and fundraising hub in the village.

To encourage donations each provider will be given a raffle ticket for every item they bring.

A monthly draw will take place supported by donations from local businesses including Corkills Garage, Okell's Inns, Spar, New Cod on the Block, Ocean Views and Willaston Butchers.

Steven Taylor, Managing Director of Okell's Inns, praised the work of the Foodbank and said the Manx Arms is in a prime position in the centre of the village to act as a drop-off point for donations.

Neal Mellon CEO of the Foodbank said they were always pleased to work with companies that can offer not just financial assistance, but a physical location and support in increasing awareness of the charity.
