Residents asked for bank details

Reports of a new parcel claim scam on the Isle of Man has prompted a fresh warning from the Office of Fair Trading.

An airmail-style postcard is being sent to residents; revealing a parcel containing jewellery is being held in the owner's name, and to make contact.

Fraudsters operating the racket are looking for debit or credit card details, asking people to provide them for the purpose of 'releasing' packages.

Instead, they'll use the information to fund other fraudulent transactions.
