Large number of checks on Mountain Road
Police say they stopped a driver 'every five minutes' during a routine Mountain Road patrol this week.
A significant number of vehicles with faulty headlights, as well as motorists using mobile phones or failing to wear a seatbelt, were pulled over at the Ramsey Hairpin on Tuesday evening.
The Constabulary launched a crusade against the 'fatal four' road offences - which also include speeding and drink-driving - last year.
Officers also have the power to issue notices compelling drivers to have their vehicle defects repaired.
