Oak tree planting

Children at Michael School will plant a number of oak trees this morning - to commemorate the lives of local men lost during the Second World War.

They will replace the original trees planted as a tribute in 1995 - which have since died after storm damage.

Pupils found out about the lost trees while preparing for their Remembrance Day assembly last year - and raised the money for the new oak saplings at their Christmas fair.

Year Five pupils will perform the planting ceremony at 11 o'clock this morning.
