Fellow charity praises work of charity as lifeline is offered
More details about a financial lifeline for Live at Home are expected to be released next week.
The Manx charity – which supports elderly people to remain independent at home – was at risk of closure due to funding issues.
Members had been told the organisation would be stopping its operations at the end of August – potentially affecting up to 500 service users.
However a ‘significant’ contribution from a private source means the charity is now intending to restructure and continue with ‘cautious optimism’.

A trustee of the Manx Retirement Association says it's vital organisations like Live at Home are able to continue.
It's understood the charity - which offers social activities and one-to-one befriending among other services - will be scaled back and around five jobs will still be at risk.
The MRA provides a similar service and one of its trustees - Howard Parkin - is also a volunteer driver for Live at Home.
He's told Manx Radio it's important to keep these organisations afloat:
