No standard postal deliveries today

Special Delivery and Parcelforce next day deliveries take precedence

There will be no standard doorstep postal deliveries on the Island today (Thurs 13th)

The Post Office has confirmed that while air and sea mail have been received and processed, Special Delivery and Parcelforce next-day guaranteed items will be taking precedence.

Chief Executive Simon Kneen says their contingency plans are in place to mitigate the impact of today's strike by CWU members.

He's expressed gratitude for those who have turned out today, and welcomed news that the Union has stated there is no further action planned by them ahead of Christmas, after the current 48 hour strike due to end at 5.30am on Saturday.

He adds that they remain committed to working with the CWU to bring the industrial action to a swift conclusion.

Further talks are taking place today with assistance from the Manx Industrial Relations Service.
