Island bouncers will soon need to have passed a college course before they can work in licensed premises.
The Department of Home Affairs is teaming up with the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education to offer the training.
The department says the move will raise standards in a key section of the private security industry.
The course is being introduced in response to conditions imposed by the Island’s Licensing Court at its last triennial session.

All door staff have to pass a level two Manx Award in Door Supervision by April 1 next year to keep working in the Island’s pubs and clubs.
The course is being launched on November 13 and letters about the new requirements have already been sent to people on the Department of Home Affairs' security staff register.
Anyone can take the course – but if your name’s not down, you won’t get in.
