Proposals for six homes and a commercial unit
New plans to replace the former Waterfall Hotel in Glen Maye with homes are to be considered.
The owner of the former pub has submitted an application to demolish the structure, building six homes and a commercial unit in its place.
The planning application shows proposals to construct four terraced homes, and two semi-detached houses, as well as a commercial facility.
Previous applications to demolish the building have been rejected, while a building preservation notice was issued last year, with it said to be of special architectural or historical interest.
Despite this, the owner says the Waterfall has crept into a state of decay, and it would need considerable investment to bring it back into use.
It's been more than five years since the building was last open as a public house, with the applicant stating multiple attempts have been made to make a business work, but they have been unsuccessful, with trading losses in excess of £200,000.
