New initiative aims to tackle 'unacceptable' impact of rising cost of living

Founder says families are having to choose between heating and eating

The founder of a new support group offering help to those impacted by the rising cost of living says it's 'really not acceptable' that families are having to choose between heating and eating.

Methodist preacher Jen Casson has set up 'Fulfil Communities' - which stands for Faith, United, a Listening ear, Food, Inclusive and Loving action.

The initiative aims to give those in need a place to open up about the pressures they face, as well as helping them access support services such as the foodbank and healthcare.

Jen says it's something that's impacted a broad section of society:

The first meeting will take place at Castletown Methodist Church Hall on 5 September from 11.30am to 1pm.
