New drugs bans in the Isle of Man

A drug which was temporarily banned in the Isle of Man is now permanently so, after it was made an illegal class 'B' substance in the United Kingdom recently.

It means the Island's temporary ban on Methoxetamine (known as 'Mexxy') will not have to be renewed at next month's Tynwald sitting.

Various other substances, including O-desmethyltramadol (known as Krypton when blended with another substance) and some new synthetic cannabinoids (such as those contained in Black Mamba and Annihilation) have also been re-classified as illegal Class B drugs in the UK and are also now banned in the Isle of Man.
