Natural gas extraction should be investigated says Treasury Minister

Ashford highlights success in other countries

The Isle of Man shouldn't rule out exploiting natural gas reserves.

That's the view of the Treasury Minister who says the idea should be analysed and the pros and cons considered.

Local energy company Crogga claims there is £10 billion of natural gas which could be recovered from the Manx seabed.

This week it hit back at the chair of the climate change transformation board who said extraction of it was a 'no-no'.

David Ashford says it should be investigated because other countries have managed to reap the rewards:
