NASA experience for Manx students

Youngsters thrilled wtih trip of lifetime

'Wonderful and unforgettable' - the words of Manx students describing their time at the NASA United Space School in Houston, Texas.

Julius Herzig from King William's College, Laurence Couch from Castle Rushen High School and Ramsey Grammar pupil Rose ten Donkelaar won scholarships from Island-based satellite firm ManSat.

The trio spent an immersive two weeks at the school over the summer holidays.

ManSat representatives joined Education Minister Tim Crookall for a presentation of certificates to the students, to mark their trip.

The company praised the high quality of Manx students taking part, and the department's key role in preparing young people for the scheme - which attracts those studying maths and science.
