
Chief Constable Russ Foster issues update following serious incident in Close Drean
Police say a 14-year-old boy died as a result of a serious incident in Ramsey yesterday, and a juvenile is in custody in relation to an ongoing murder investigation.
Chief Constable Russ Foster confirmed the details following the incident in Close Drean in an update posted on the police's social media pages this evening.
Christopher Benjamin Robert James McBurnie died at the scene, and Chief Constable Foster says a Home Office Pathologist will determine the cause of death in due course.
He added that specialist officers are supporting Christopher's family, and appealed for the public and media to respect the privacy of the teenager's family.
The Chief Constable added that he's aware of video and rumours circulating on social media, and appealed for the public to refrain from sharing such content.

St Christopher's, the Youth Service and Isle Listen will also be providing support through Street Wise officers, and will be opening youth drop in centres across the Island next week.

• Douglas – 1pm – 5pm, Café Larré, 1 Lord Street, Douglas, Isle of Man. IM1 2BF
• Castletown -1pm – 4pm, Isle Listen, Mill Court, Hope Street Castletown IM9 1AN
