Murder accused due in court

The man accused of murdering two police officers in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester is due to appear later today (Monday) at the city's crown court.

Former Castle Rushen High School student PC Fiona Bone, whose family live in Port St Mary, and her colleague PC Nicola Hughes were killed as they responded to a report of a burglary.

Dale Cregan is charged with their murders at Mottram in Tameside six days ago.

The 29-year-old accused also faces four counts of attempted murder, is expected to appear via videolink.

Yesterday, a church service was held in Port St Mary to remember Fiona.

On Friday, Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson visited her parents Paul and June and her sister Vicky at their invitation.

Mr Watterson went to school with Fiona at Castle Rushen.
